Yeah, no doubt. However the goal of this project was not to develop a new, more sophisticated mechanism for documentation, but rather to expose what was already available.
The discussion you bring up is more of a language discussion (in the sense of supporting a more 'literate' style over the more 'traditional' style) than anything having to do with contrib in particular.
