I am all for a standard packaging/build system but what ever it is it needs to not ignore the 10s of thousands of libraries tucked away in maven2 repos. Something like Ties w/ compile support would be cool.
Git submodules, SVN externals & Hg forrest won't work either because everyone uses different source control (and sorry I am not switching off git :P ).
