I also favor the optimal names. We're the pioneers in using clojure, so we should expect a few arrows. Hopefully, the number of clojure users in the future will be an order of magnitude greater than where we are now. For us to take short term hit, we can save a large number of people a lot of cycles later on. I also prefer it on aesthetic grounds. Breaking compatibility doesn't bother me much.
