Delays are associated with first posts. In order to catch spam, I have
the 'new members messages are moderated' setting on. So your first
post has to wait for me to moderate it. When doing so, I set it so
further posts from you go right through. (This wasn't always the case,
they've recently made it easier to do both in one shot.)
So, first time posters - please be patient.
I haven't seen delays otherwise.
