Hello,

(...) I have managed to
implement clamav in a way that it scans my uploads in the local environment.

Clamav using TCP connection is for you.

Here is my uncertainty:
My website needs to be capable of handling multiple uploads at once, which can be as large as 4 GB (I read that is the maximum Filesize for ClamAV is 2 GB but it can somehow be extended to 4GB).

I wonder what would happen if many users were uploading at the same time. Would the scan requests be executed one at the time?

Yes it can depending on your CPU cores and available RAM :

If you have only 1 cpu core, it will scan 1 file by one.

If you have 4 cpu cores, it will scan 4 files at the same time.

If you have 32 cpu cores, it will scan 32 files at the same time.

Now, if each file is 4 Gb :

If you have only 1 cpu core, you will need more than 4 Gb of RAM

If you have 32 cpu cores, you will need more than 128 Gb of RAM.

What would you recommend otherwise? It can be a paid service too.

You can contact me if you need a ClamAV server with 32 cores as a paid service.
