>From the activity, I thought there might have been a new "rc" release and I missed the memo. The existing one seemed to be a disaster not of cmake's making. Too many missing support files to get it to run from /usr/local, and it was definitely unclear how to change that prefix AND use cmake at the same time. I have used cmake before but the support stuff WAS ready for prime time. This rc certainly wasn't. I'm still on stretch on this machine but have stuff to install bullseye on in a truck someplace, a handfull of 1T Samsung SSD's I intend to make into a raid6. Got the 6 port sata-III card already, and I'll add a 3 port firewire at the same rebuild so my semi-hidef movie camera will work again. Its a digital lo-def hi-def, 720x480, works great with kino, translating it to put on dvd's. Great video when fed back to a hidef tv. Way sharper than a vhs. Lots more megabytes per minute too. A 30 minute wedding pretty well fills a dvd. Thank you, G.W. Haywood. Cheers, Gene Heskett -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
