It is becoming more and more necessary to enforce these cut off points
because of many reasons.  Load to the mirror network being one.  So, .100,
and .101 will continue to be supported for a bit, but soon, we’re going to
have to cut those off too.

Yes.  It’s at least two more versions downloading.  Every version adds
additional bandwidth consumption to the mirror network.

are there different versions of clamav databases for different versions of
clamav scanner?

I remember that few years ago, new signature was intentionally put to
database to crash make older clamav versions fail, but with proper message.

That one indicated there was only one version available at that time.
