Hi, I recently got a question from a client of mine regarding ClamAV.
The question was: the virus signature file is loaded by the scanner application in whole into memory. Since this file got gradually larger and now it's too large and causes OOM in other parts of the system. The machine in question is an older thingy with 256MB memory running an embedded Linux version and a special full screen application over TinyX and FBDEV. Is is possible to make ClamAV use less memory perhaps by repetitive scanning with a smaller subset of the virus signature file at a time?
