Thanks, I finally got it working.
Just had to read the fine "Creating signatures for ClamAV"
manual that came with the source, which I didn't know was there.
:-)
At least, I don't remember it being there in 2006 or 2007 when I started using
clamav.

The capabilities of libclamav are definitely impressive.
