Are you running it from a partition mounted as noexec?
If you create another shellscript, does it run?

Does it run if you do: bash ./configure, instead of just ./configure?

Another idea: Maybe FC7 doesn't like the space in the first line of
configure: #! /bin/sh
Try removing the space, and see if it runs.
Although 0.95.3 had that as first line too, so not sure what could be
wrong there.

Another thing to check: does your /bin/sh exist, and have execute
permissions? (unlikely it wouldn't, but some disk failure might have
damaged it)

What if you download an older ClamAV, that you know it worked, can you
run the configure for that?
