Virus protection is a heavy weight process that does not belong on an end point device category such as cell phones. Before your cell phone gets the message it should already have been processed for spam, blacklists, and hostile payload - in other words, it shall have passed policy based screening.
I honestly imagine this will be a controversial position, but if I own the company and those are my cell phones, that's the way it would be.
