I can't tell you how many support calls I've received over the years with people saying "my Internet stopped working" and it was due to their Norton or McAfee license expiring.
As someone so eloquently stated earlier, your clamav<0.95 license has expired. It's as simple as that.
If you felt other consequences, like mail stopped flowing, change your mail config to fail-open rather than fail-closed. Your mail config is simply not anyone else's responsibility.
