The question is how much memory does it use on avg? Also, what OS are
you using?
If it is actively scanning something then..... that still seems
excessive but...... how much memory do you have in the system?
Here is my usage:
PID PPID RSS VSZ %CPU %MEM CMD
3264 1 93768 116336 0.0 6.0
/usr/local/sbin/clamd
For my system, that works out to be 91MB at idle.....
My mail server is ONLY used by myself so .... has very little load and
spend more than 99% of the time idle.
