I think there is a bit of confusion here between the "SelfCheck" setting in clamd.conf and the "Checks" setting in freshclam.conf. I do see his point with the man page documentation for clamd.conf: SelfCheck NUMBER Perform a database check. Default: 1800 So what does the number mean? The man page doesn't say. You have to read the conf file to get an explanation: # Perform internal sanity check (database integrity and freshness). # Default: 1800 (30 min) SelfCheck 1200 The man page needs to be updated to define the units for the "SelfCheck" setting. -- Bowie _______________________________________________ Help us build a comprehensive ClamAV guide: visit http://wiki.clamav.net http://www.clamav.net/support/ml
