For a mail server on a network, that makes perfect sense; however, for a personal PC or private network, it makes no sense at all. If I am the only user, what am I going to try and accomplish? See if I can catch myself sending some sort of SPAM/VIRUS/TROJAN or whatever? Now, if I was so stupid I could not lock down my own system, then perhaps I would concur with your statement. However, as you pointed it, it is a policy issue. It sort of reminds me of an event last year when I was attempting to send out an announcement to users of a product we distribute. Everyone of the mailings was being scanned by Postfix/Clamav. A total waste of time and resources. I had to reconfigure Postfix to stop that nonsense. Then again, that is just my 2ยข. -- Jerry ges...@yahoo.com A man gazing at the stars is proverbially at the mercy of the puddles in the road. Alexander Smith
