Hi Phil, Firstly, sorry for the problems caused... not too sure if you've seen the posts on the Sanesecurity mailing list... but to summarise: This is the bugzilla entry: https://wwws.clamav.net/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1370 How to debug: http://www.clamav.net/bugs Crash Survey: http://survey.ssrecords.us/ > > So, it does not look as if there is anything obviously wrong with the > Sanesecurity signatures because clamd is happy to load them when it > starts. fetchsanesigs uses the USR2 signal, while freshclam connects to > the clamd socket to request the reload. Both can cause the crash. > The Sanesecurity signatures are double-checked before uploading with clamscan... they are also gpg signed and have a sha256 checksum file also available... so their integrity should be ok at both ends. As you say, the databases load ok... the problem seems when the database re-loads. Some users are seeing no problems, other are - which is the frustrating bit. If anyone has any test boxes and they want to help debug this... it'd be a big help, as it probably affects all Third-Party signatures and it probably looking like a timing issue between clamd/freshclam and USR2/RELOAD commands from the scripts. Again, I can only apologise... but this really is an odd one :( Cheers, Steve Sanesecurity _______________________________________________ Help us build a comprehensive ClamAV guide: visit http://wiki.clamav.net http://www.clamav.net/support/ml
