I shut everything down, ran the uninstall for 0.94.2, then the install from
svn, with no change ):

server:/usr/local/sbin# ldd clamav-milter
        libclamav.so.5 => /usr/local/lib/libclamav.so.5 (0xb7edd000)
        libbz2.so.1.0 => /lib/libbz2.so.1.0 (0xb7ecd000)
        libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1 (0xb7eb9000)
        libdl.so.2 => /lib/tls/libdl.so.2 (0xb7eb4000)
        libpthread.so.0 => /lib/tls/libpthread.so.0 (0xb7ea2000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/libc.so.6 (0xb7d70000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb7fa2000)

server:/usr/local/sbin# ldd clamd
        libclamav.so.5 => /usr/local/lib/libclamav.so.5 (0xb7e79000)
        libbz2.so.1.0 => /lib/libbz2.so.1.0 (0xb7e69000)
        libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1 (0xb7e55000)
        libdl.so.2 => /lib/tls/libdl.so.2 (0xb7e50000)
        libpthread.so.0 => /lib/tls/libpthread.so.0 (0xb7e3e000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/libc.so.6 (0xb7d0c000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb7f3e000)

Cheers,
