So now you are accusing the developers of being a group of lazy
bastards. I am sure that, that will encourage them to hasten a fix
(which assumes something is broken, and I am not of that frame of mind)
for your problem(s).

On a serious note, if you are so unhappy, and your tone definitely
indicates that you are, the solution is easily within your grasp.
Choose the solution you feel most comfortable with.

1) Learn to live with it.
2) Write a patch/utility that suits your needs.
3) Write your own AV program
4) Use another AV program. There are several available, both OS/Free
and commercial.

You are not paying for the software. You can, of course ask nicely if
the developers might modify the software to suit your own personal
preferences; however, you have no right to call them lazy, nor to
demand that they modify their product just to suit you. If I were the
author of the software, I would not hesitate to tell you what to do
with your demands especially after calling me a lazy bastard.
