Thank you for this information.

However I have looked at the freshclam.conf file and there is no where I 
can designate a certain directory. We are on a closed network and there I 
have seen where freshclam tries to pull or even point to a DSN server or 
Mirror server.  If I comment or change the default it indicates that I 
must choose a valid mirror or even a valid DNS.

In short, Clam just needs to point to a certain directory where the 
updated files are kept so that it can be pulled down to that particularly 
machine.

I was wondering if that was possible short of writing a script.

The "freshclam" program is the part of clamav that retrieves 
updates.  See "man freshclam" for details.

The "freshclam.conf" file is what controls the behavior of 
freshclam.  See "man freshclam.conf" for details.
