Thank you for this information. However I have looked at the freshclam.conf file and there is no where I can designate a certain directory. We are on a closed network and there I have seen where freshclam tries to pull or even point to a DSN server or Mirror server. If I comment or change the default it indicates that I must choose a valid mirror or even a valid DNS.
In short, Clam just needs to point to a certain directory where the updated files are kept so that it can be pulled down to that particularly machine. I was wondering if that was possible short of writing a script. See "man freshclam" for details. The "freshclam.conf" file is what controls the behavior of freshclam.
