I followed the instructions for installation, and it installed without any problems.
When I ran clamd it gave me a message that it could not find the config file at /etc/clamd.conf instead of one saying to edit the file. I searched the hard drive and there was no such file on the system anywhere. I then searched the internet and found a configuration file and instructions on how to create it at http://www.proscrutiny.com/howtos/clamav-qmail-ldap.html I followed the instructions, but when I would try to run clamd, it would report that several of the lines needed to be boolean. The example did not show them boolean, but I added a " 1" at the end of each of these, and now clamd seems to run, or at least does not generate an error. It simply returns to the prompt. Now, I when trying to run clamscan. It gave me the following output: LibClamAV Error: cl_loaddbdir(): Can't get status of /usr/local/share/clamav ERROR: Input/Output error ----------- SCAN SUMMARY ----------- Known viruses: 0 Engine version: 0.91.1 Scanned directories: 0 Scanned files: 0 Infected files: 0 Data scanned: 0.00 MB Time: 0.007 sec (0 m 0 s) I searched for clamav to put it in that directory, found it in the contrib/init/FreeBSD5.2, and copied it to that directory. Now it says: bClamAV Error: Can't load /usr/local/share/clamav: Malformed database ERROR: Malformed database ----------- SCAN SUMMARY ----------- Known viruses: 0 Engine version: 0.91.1 Scanned directories: 0 Scanned files: 0 Infected files: 0 Data scanned: 0.00 MB Time: 0.108 sec (0 m 0 s) I am at a loss at to what to do next. Any assistance would be appreciated.
