When that happens it's worth checking to see if your installation detects them now. If you received it by email then it is also worth looking to see if the process timed out before the scan completed. Some mail systems will default to accepting the message when the scanner times out. It can be argued either way - my boss would kick my ass if I rejected mail on timeout. Tempfailing timeouts is equivalent to rejecting on timeout because those messages will time out the next time delivery is attempted, too.
