I am running RHEL 3 and have clamav version 0.88.4 installed (via binaries). I cannot update to the latest 0.88.6 version successfully. (Both sets of packages were downloaded from the dag.wieers.com website).
When attempting the rpm -Uvh command using both rpm packages together (i.e. clamav and clamav-db) I get dependencies back to the previous packages. If I string all of the old and new rpm packages in a single rpm upgrade command I get warning errors about conflicts, after which clamscan won't run at all. Attempting to delete the old packages before installing the new ones results in the following: #rpm -qa|grep clam clamd-0.88.4-1.el3.rf clamav-0.88.4-1.el3.rf clamav-db-0.88.4-1.el3.rf #rpm -e clamd error reading information on service channel: no such file or directory error: %preun(clamd-0.88.4-1.el3.rf) script failed, exit status 1 #rpm -e clamav error failed dependencies: libclamav.s0.1 is needed by [installed] clamd-0.88.4-1.el3.rf clamav=0.88.4-1.el3.rf is needed by [installed] clamd-0.88.4-1.el3.rf #rpm - e clamav-db error failed dependencies: clamav-db=0.88.4-1.el3.rf is needed by [installed] clamav-0.88.4-1.el3.rf Using the force and nodeps options for the deletes was not successful either. Can anyone straighten me out on this? Thank you. _______________________________________________ http://lurker.clamav.net/list/clamav-users.html
