Like Andy and the citrus site says:
"The following binary packages of ClamAV are for Solaris 9
SPARC 64-bit."
So, don't install those on Solaris 10.
solaris 9 binaries will run just fine on solaris 10. i have
binaries going back to solaris 2.5.1 that run fine on solaris 10.
backwards compatibility has always existed on the sparc
architectures.
You have to pay for Solaris 9.
false, and irrelevant anyway.
That's what my license says - and I paid for it. IP theft is never
irrelevant.
not all the licenses for solaris 9 are the same. do your research
first before you suggest I or anyone else is engaging in IP theft.
I'm using Sol 9 commercially. I'm not a student. I'm not exploring it
for possible inclusion in my world. I'm using it in a business.
Therefore I have to pay for it and I did. It's the law. If I had not I
would be engaging in IP theft. I didn't say you were engaging in IP
theft. There is no way I can determine that. What you understood in
what I said is your responsibility - even if it is wrong.
you blew it, and revealed yourself to be a troll. you originally wrote,
and you can see it above: "YOU have to pay for solaris 9" (emphasis
mine). you did not say "I had to pay for solaris 9". but now you're
putting on the halo, pretending you weren't suggesting anything about
anybody else.
troll behavior. gotta love it. and this all has what to do with clamav?
oh, right. nothing.
I shouldn't waste my time with a moron - so I won't except to say that
my usage of the word "you" that has your panties in a bunch is a
collective term having nothing at all to do with you personally. It can
be replaced with "one" as in "one must purchase a license". In this case
"one" is also a collective term.
So when must one buy Solaris 9? If one uses it to earn income. Is this
the only case? Not on your life. But, this means if you buy a Netra on
Ebay and start up an auction site or other for-profit site you have to
buy a license. And they're not cheap. As neither of us knows if that is
the case for the OP, pull your panties out of your ass and consider my
comment nothing more than a word to the wise. Appropose ClamAV?
Indirectly, yes. We all would like to be as legal as you, no?
