It appears that the patch to fix read from stdin only fixed it for tcp connections, not for connections over a local socket. I forwarded what appears to be a working patch to [EMAIL PROTECTED], and I'm sure they will post the one they incorporate after vetting it. In the meantime, you can change clamd to run on a tcp socket (make it listen only on 127.0.0.1 and firewall the port for safety) - you lose file system permissions protection, but you're still fairly safe.
