since freshclam has daemon support, it also seems logical that one might want
to run it in the foreground for use with tools such as djb's daemontools
(http://cr.yp.to/daemontools.html)

This patch allows you to pass the -f flag to freshclam's command line to make
it stay in the foreground instead of forking into the background.

it's available at http://scriptkitchen.com/qmail/freshclam-foreground.patch

so far it has been patching successfully against all versions of clamav (at
least 0.70+, not sure about earlier ones) including the latest, 0.73.

enjoy.
