Maybe true, but in any case, I am guessing (pure hypotheses on my part) that the primary use of Clamav is currently on mail gateways (Linux servers serving windows clients for the most part).
In that scenario, the reward for the effort of coding a cure function in Clamav would not be worth the effort required.
Also - using the term "infect" in conjunction with "GPL" offends me, you insensitive clod! <grin>
