This isn't really the place for this discussion. Licensing is an issue for the developers of the project, it is their code, how they choose to license it is their concern. I'm guessing that you're not one of the developers as a) you're trying to discuss this on the users list b) you don't seem sure about the internal structure and licensing c) a quick search only reveals a few postings to this list recently (mostly in this thread) d) you're not listed in the AUTHORS file.
