Hi,
Trying to install clamav on a Debian, what gateway should I use : Amavisd-new, IVS-Milter, Mailscanner, Sagator or clamdmail ?
I do not find these packages on Debian Woody stable version. Should I install from tar.gz or try to find them on the unstable version ?
Thanks a lot for your help
I guess it depends on what your current set up is. If you're running sendmail, you can just plug in the clamav-milter, and run it that way. If you're running exim3, you can either run it as it's own transport or use a backport of any of the above.
If your an exim user, I would highly recommend A Metzler's backports of exim4 - they contain the exiscan patch to allow you to run clam at smtp time, 550'ing virus emails. Try backports.org for the other programs you mentioned above - I make no promises about quality, as it varies wildly, but there are certainly many of those programs available.
