Luc could also just unpack the database (via "sigtool -u") each time it is updated, and work with the plain text list ? It wastes a bit of disk space, but on the other hand it doesn't require a "bleeding edge" version of sigtool...
... and AWK-ing to get rid of the virus signature...
Is there a way to get the date of when a particular virus was added to the database?
