There are many postfix/mailscanner users who are perfectly happy. There were some initial teething troubles with postfix support (mainly due to postixes weird queue format and use of the inode number in filenames I think) but these are now ironed out. So long as the installation instructions are followed carefully (particularly putting both queues on the same partition) things should be fine. Unfortunately it seems that the postfix folks have a fixed view of mailscanner based some problems in its first efforts to support postfix and steadfastly refuse to revise that opinion in the light of the current available evidence.
