I didn't have luck with amavisd-net mailscanner is the way to go ...
Don't use MailScanner with postfix. MailScanner manipulates the postfix queue in an unsupported manner and will cause loss of mail without warning or notice. I'm sure MailScanner works great with other MTAs, just don't use it with postfix.
Amavisd-NEW is the one to use, and includes clear and complete instructions for use with postfix. There are several branches of amavis, so it's confusing.
