Okay, the hand was 'thinking' faster than the brain here.
I always do

tar zxvf && configure --disable-clamuko && make && make install.

This time round, I had to add --disable-bzip2 to the configure args
as was suggested by Tomasz.

That way I managed to install, but I still believe something is wrong
somewhere, the reason I have to disable bzip2 support..
