Not necessary for me anymore. The hint about permission problems was sufficient: I had already added the clamav user to the amavis group. Now I also changed the permissions of /var/amavis from 750 to 46770 but with no luck. But changing clamd to run as user amavis and changing the directory and the clamd socket to user amavis and group clamav seem to have solved that problem as I havn't seen any error in the last 3 hours. And I reverted the permissions of /var/amavis back to 750.
