> Also there is great matrix for which module goes where on: > http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/interfaces_modules/transceiver_modules/compa tibility/matrix/OL_6981.pdf
While this is a good link, it doesn't tell the whole story for all platforms. For example, in the ME3750 the matrix says that the GLC-T will do 10/100/1000 but it won't (or at least it didn't) - not in all the ports - some SFP ports are gigabit only regardless of the module being tri-speed capable. You'll only find that information in the ME3750 documentation or by trial and error. Obviously, there may be other examples. Yes, we did get caught with this. Consequently, we don't completely trust documentation on the Cisco website. <rant>So +1 to Cisco for providing a matrix but -5 for not providing all the information. It's a pity that you need to read multiple sets of documentation to find a single piece of information.</rant> B. _______________________________________________ cisco-nsp mailing list [email protected] https://puck.nether.net/mailman/listinfo/cisco-nsp archive at http://puck.nether.net/pipermail/cisco-nsp/
