Hi,
yes I hit this one and others. For me the real knock-out regarding
serious audio work is the click on many fade operations, which is
caused by Cinelerra's silly assumption that -30dB == mute.

Of course you won't hear that on some tiny box on your desktop, but
its quite strikingly clear and annoying on any studio monitor.

I don't know if this got fixed during the last 2 years. I'd guess not,
because the obvious fix would change the meaning off all fade automation
curves and thus break most existing session files.

Anyway, my conclusion was (years ago): Cinelerra is unusable for
professional grade audio work. Since then, I always make just a rough
audio cut, then export / import to Ardour and build the real mix there
from scratch.

Well, actually I didn't do any professional-grade work in Cinelerra at
all since the last years. As you probably know, I'm one of the Lumiera
core devs, and on top of that, did some quite challenging Pipe Organ
Recording and CD projects. So basically not much spare time was left :-/

Cheers,
Hermann V
