Unfortunately, I was not able to use any of your recipes to convert MPEG-4 AVC/H 264 footage to something Cinelerra could accept. (dnxhd was good for video but I couldn't find the ffmpeg magic spell for audio; only some h264 files are readable by CinelerraCV - video only)

I needed a quick and easy solutions for newbies.
I ended up using Kino to convert SD footage to RawDV and
Kdenlive to render HD footage to HDV.

I sense you recipes might ensure better quality, so I'll spend some time to study them better.
