Gour,
Thanks for that feedback. As follow-up...
1. My kernel is Fedora 10 (2.6.27.19-170.2.35.fc10.i686), and I'm using
the Cinelerra RPM from RPMFusion. The packages are
'cinelerra-cv-2.1-21.git20081103.fc10 (i386)' and
'cinelerra-cv-debuginfo-2.1-21.git20081103.fc10 (i386)'
2. I find that I can render my project to 'Raw DV' (which insists on
having both audio and video tracks), and then use ffmpeg to convert to
.mpg (-target ntsc-dvd). This seems to work just fine -- which makes
me wonder why we don't just do that routinely, instead of making two
passes?
I'll be happy to swap info with you, if it's at all interesting. But,
for my part, the lower risk approach to finishing my project is to use
the Raw DV technique, vs a deep dive into application building. (I've
done that before, in java/CVS and other environments, so I'm not
exactly a virgin. But I wasn't looking for another learning curve just
now.)
Thanks again! Regards,

Well, the situation (in my case) is simple: Cinelerra should be built
with 'internal' ffmpeg instead of relying on external one.
In my case, script for building cinelerra was using
'--with-external-ffmpeg' switch in 'configure' script and that enables
the patch which I referenced in my previous message which makes
cinelerra badly broken. :-/
I'm also not developer, but it looks that with cinelerra you need to go
into developer's waters a bit. ;)
Which distro you use?
Knowing that might help give you more info...
Otherwise, fetch (with e.g. git) latest code from the repository and
build cinelerra from the source.
However, I do not see that this bug is confirmed by community.
Sincerely,
Gour

Man O Man, I feel stupid I have been turning VBox with XP on and off
when needed and having to wait for it to open. Just didn't think about
running it in another desktop :-[
