The truth is, that neither of us can really know, since we don't have access to neither the original recordings nor the EDL. I've also experienced terribly sync problems with lousy hardware, but I have one ultimate test: The almighty mplayer. Unfortunately, I've faced cases in which mplayer played in perfect sync, and Cinelerra messed things up.

So I would add: Play the original DV's with mplayer, to verify nothing went wrong during the recording.

And by the way, a fairly well-designed camera should reduce the frame rate in accordance with the sample rate on a cold day. Otherwise any simple user will become very annoyed pretty soon.
