You cannot depend on that your camcorder produces exactly 48000 samples of sound per second. The difference adds up over an hour to a noticable amount. You can find out if this is the case by loading a hour-long DV file into Cinelerra: If the ends of the audio and the video do not match, then you have the problem. To work around the problem, you make edits and move the audio by a tiny amount to sync it with the video (you have to switch off "Align cursor on frames" and disarm the video for this).
