Not if I can help it. We are still collecting names, and have not yet
appointed the referee or panel to pick the winner. If you would like
us to hurry up, we will do our best to do so.
The
next Heroine Virtual Ltd. release will be Cinelerra 4 to keep versioning
chronological. Usually when we did rewrites in the past, the version
numbers started over at 1, the name changed, and the value of the work
was what moved people to the new rewrite. Is the value in the work
really so limited that you have to call new projects Cinelerra and
version 3?
"Cin3" will not be called Cinelerra much longer. It's a rewrite, and
_should_ have a distinctly different name.
Personally, I would like a different name for the Cinelerra-CV fork,
and that will probably be the end of full merges with "your" Cinelerra.
Cin3/name-yet-to-be-decided will become the new "upstream" for that fork.
