I think the last point in that paraphrased exchange is an unreasonable
position.  The functionality in question does exist - so claiming that it
doesn't exist, is unreasonable.  It operates in a way that is intuitive
and easy for many users - so claiming that it's impossibly difficult to
use, is unreasonable.  Changing the way it works would be a massive amount
of work with no improvement guaranteed and little improvement even
possible - so claiming that it would be easy to "fix" and ought to be a
top priority for development, amid insults directed at the pigheaded
developers who are unwilling to do anything to help users, is
unreasonable.
