Hi, I have a Baofeng HP 9+, and I'm using Chirp on an older Ubuntu live on a thumb drive, that I've booted to before and used to program the same radios. I was just able to first read and write to my UV 5R with the same cable that I'm trying to use on the 9+. I worked and worked on the connection, making sure it was tight into the radio. I reset the radio with menu 40 and #1, which is a full reset, it went to Chinese, and then I set it to English again, but it still won't read from the radio. Does anyone have any ideas why it won't read? I'm pretty sure the 9+ uses the same cable as the UV5R. Thanks for any suggestions.
