Mobi, to understand your environment, you have:

Linux host + VirtualBox + Win XP guest -> Virtual PC and
                                                                  \ >
Device Emulator

is that correct?

I guess that if you want to connect to some port inside the emulator
from the host (Linux), you're going to port forwarding from Linux to
the device address, and then connect gdb to localhost
