I'll try to create a release script, and test it, in the following days.

For all I know, it should :
- create a tag in SVN
- modify the README file in it so it mentions the right release
  instead of "from SVN"
- modify a couple of scripts so they contain the right version as well
- commit all that
- build RPMs
- ftp them to SF
- build binary tar images

I've not written "create a source distribution" because it is 10 times
as large as the binary distributions, and I doubt if people will
download it. I'd rather point them to SVN instead, that'll take a far
lower network volume when updating.

Opinions ? Did I miss anything?
