I write 2 possibly simple wishes that would be useful to be resolved at some point.

(a) Scrolling with the mouse wheel works on most CDE apps (after proper setup of the .Xdefaults)
except the filemanager, where
it only works when the pointer is on the vertical scrolling bar. What makes a difference with, say, dtterm
where it works fine?

Typically, scroll wheel steps are mapped to button 4 and 5 (for up and down, or maybe the other way around, I forget).

I recall some info on that was made to work with dtterm and a few other apps:

Other apps work. dtfile does not work and it is not a matter of configuration. It is a bug.It has been written
again in this list. I just rewrite it in case someone finds what is wrong with dtfile.

(b) Some way to configure single click instead of double click on the file manager.
I am an old guy. My fingers hurt with the clicks. There is no reason to have to use
double the number of clicks.

Antonis.

A single click already has a meaning (select something).  You can press and hold down the right mouse button, and move the pointer to the "Open" item on the popup menu, as an alternative to double clicking the left mouse button.

A right click for menu and a click on Open is again 2 clicks. The issue here is to cut down the clicks
to 50%. All other common desktops I know of, support one click to open.

Moreover CDE desktop supports(!) 1 click to restore a minimized application because it can be configured
to select the minimized icon on mouse-over. It is dtfile that does not support this (or I do not know how to set it up).

Antonis.
