The replicas give many the chance to experience the Apple I at a reasonable price, thanks indirectly to those willing to pay for the real thing. Otherwise we'd probably never get to use one. It's fun to find original parts and sockets to try to get a replica as close as possible to an original. I guess it does not matter how or why it happenend but the Apple I is the ultimate vintage computing collectible. Personally I use my IMSAI somewhat regularly, thats my favorite computer from the mid 70s.
