For someplace that actually generates some tourist and souvenir traffic,
it made sense.
It is negligible cost to produce, and is a much easier sell for
Professor Harold Hill than convincing the townfolk that they need to start
a youth band to counteract the trouble, right here in River City, of the
pool hall.
"You don't want YOUR business to be left off of the map"
But when they do a "chamber of commerce" sell for every town and exceed
saturation it doesn't work so well. Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito, . . .
