Should the run light glow dimly? > Without looking at the schematics I can't tell you if they bothered to put the resistor in there to make it glow dimly but I can tell you that it isn't necessary for the run lamp. The reason to make it glow dimly when off is to reduce the filament thermal shock when turning on and off. This makes the bulbs last a lot longer.
