Definitely. The air is compressed from humid air, and over time will come back more concentrated, and with tank crap mixed in as the air expands.

Dry nitrogen if you are equipped for high pressure bottles is ideal. But you need to be properly set up to handle such bottles as they will lay waste and destroy if they break. Here in CA, most places require permitting on high pressure gas, so that responders know they are there in case of emergency entry into a location.

Most tire shops now offer nitrogen fill, and as a result the cost is lower than with other gases. Welding argon would be good too, but will probably cost more.
