It's a helluva contraption in the binding - a metal slide that catches the tops of the binding pegs and little metal nubs on the inside of the front cover. I pried it forward with a screwdriver to open it and tapped it closed with the handle. Not to spec but effective enough. Get a load of the cost, too - $42 for a manual in 1970! (So does anyone want this thing?) j
